Andrés Barrera Van Hissenhoven

Dr. Andrés Barrera van Hissenhoven is a member of the Colombian Society of Plastic Surgery, with 35 years of experience and more than 11,000 successful cases. He graduated from Javeriana University as a General Physician and from the Université Catholique de Louvain (BRUSSELS), Belgium, as a Plastic Surgeon.

Dr. Andrés Barrera van Hissenhoven was born in Bogotá on November 10, 1960. He completed his secondary education at the Military Cadet School "Gral. José María Córdoba" in 1979 in Bogotá, obtaining his high school diploma.

He pursued his university studies at Javeriana University, earning the degree of Medical Surgeon.

Following his medical degree, in 1992, he completed a postgraduate program at the Académie de Lyon, Université Jean Monnet de Saint-Étienne, Faculté de Médecine Jacques Lisfranc, in Saint-Étienne (France), obtaining the title of Digestive Laparoscopic Surgeon.

Additionally, in June 1995, he completed a specialized license in Reconstructive Microsurgery at the Université Catholique de Louvain in Brussels, Belgium. Finally, on August 31, 1996, he obtained the title of Specialist Physician in Plastic Surgery from the Université Catholique de Louvain, Brussels (Belgium).

Dr. Andrés gained professional experience through his rotating internship at Simón Bolívar Hospital and his Mandatory Social Service in the National Navy, at the Naval Hospital of Coveñas.
